Meet the Staff

Jeff and Lisa Highfield

Jeff and Lisa Highfield lead Cru at Virginia Tech. They have worked with Cru for 16 years and have been at VT for 7 years. They have 4 wonderful children, Katie, Lauren, Ryan and Claire, and in the near future they are looking forward to adding number 5 through adoption. Jeff and Lisa’s favorite thing to do is to go on dates and have family nights. They love being able to raise their children around college students who love Jesus Christ.

Adam and Ruth Bethany

Adam graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in HFNE and Ruth also attended Virginia Tech and studied Spanish, Psychology, and Sociology. They were married and joined staff with Cru in 2010, and are excited to be back in Blacksburg helping students to know Christ and develop a relationship with God. They both love sports and physical fitness. Ruth loves to laugh and finds baking therapeutic and Adam is just fine with that.
